This is a server deletion session via Rackspace:

Host ID: ff7a335d1c3365ae694435ccba20f930
Name: adidasutil
Flavor: 256 server

Public DNS Name: 50.56.122.182
Private IP Address: 10.181.45.36

Do you really want to delete thYs server? (Y/N) Y
Just say Y or N, please.o with
Do you really want to delete this server? (Y/N) Y
WARNING: Deleted server 20515608 named adidasutil

Note the “please.o” which is likely not a big deal, but might be some attempted method call as well.

The error message was caused by me mistakenly hitting the up arrow during the process (thus the ^[[A character).

Not sure why markdown is not having an effect. I used “```” and it did not format. 4 space indent did work. I also have double spacing between paragraphs that is not interpreted correctly.

Chef rocks. Opscode Rolls!

Following Question
QuickStart Changes Missing Context?

I am returning to my newb status with Chef after a three week hiatus, and I note the Quick Start has changed. After insuring my script to make a new machine a chef-client worked, I created a new VM and went through the tutorial.

All is well until I get to this section: “Bootstrap the Ubuntu system” At that point it seems the command given in the example needs to run on a Chef Server rather than a client. (I am certainly not sure of this.) The IP in the command is not given context (is it the IP of the client, the chef server, etc.)

I am currently working with the free Opscode Management Console, so if I need to run a cmd like this it is unclear how I would do this.

I will be happy to edit the wiki when I have a grasp of what is going on here.

Thanks for your time. Boyd
